LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and local council members officially cut the ribbon Tuesday on the new JenCare Medical Center located on Dixie Highway.

The arrival of JenCare creates 100 new jobs and brings medical services to three neighborhoods. The facility will allow elderly patients who have transportation issues to have their needs met under one roof instead of traveling to several locations.

"Baby boomers are aging rapidly and this is a one stop shop for elderly people is phenomenal. It's a great vision and of course having jobs in the community. It’s wonderful," councilwoman Vicki Welch said.

This creates more choices for medical services throughout the Kentuckiana area. More centers like this are expected to open in the near future in Louisville.
