(WHAS11) A huge step for the Big Four Railroad Bridge Pedestrian Walkway project happened Tuesday, Oct.25. The last of the original railroad ties were removed on the Indiana side. It means a temporary walkway is now complete from Kentucky to Indiana and work will now begin on the permanent, concrete walkway.
I was on the bridge with Project Director Clinton Deckard and WHAS 11 News Photographer Bryan Derby. Here for the first time, the views that will be available to walkers, joggers and bicyclists starting in the winter of 2012, when the bridge opens.
