(WHAS11) Noah Stickler, 13, defines “Positively Kentuckiana”.
Through his positive spirit Noah has gone from being bed-ridden, to a wheelchair, to a walker and now he’s walking on his own.
Recently, that “can do” attitude took Noah to the All American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio.
Noah prepared for his first-ever run, down Akron, Ohio’s famed All American Soap Box Derby Hill. He’s part of the 73-yearoold tradition’s Third Annual Super Kids Event. Friday, July 24 seventy regional Super Kids Champions from all over the world squared off. The goal was to make the top six and move on to the finals on Saturday.
In all, Noah and his co-pilot challenged the hill four times missing the finals by seven-one-hundredths of a second. Noah was disappointed, but he did get a pep talk from actor Corbin Bernsen, who was in Akron shooting a movie.
Noah is already planning to be in the Regional’s of next year’s Soap Box Derby.
Between now and then Noah will be working with local organizers to get a Soap Box Derby track built in Louisville.
