Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11)- There is a new playground that is open in Louisville, and it is designed for all children to use.
“This new playground is called an "inclusive" playground. It includes a ramp up to the play deck allowing easy access for those youth who may have trouble using a traditional playground,” says Mayor Greg Fischer.
The $112,000 dream playground at Petersburg Park includes rubber surfaces which make it easier for children who use wheelchairs, crutches or walkers.
The "rockin raft" feature is also wheelchair-friendly.
This is the fourth "inclusive" playground in Louisville; the others are at Shawnee Park, Iroquois Park and Des Pres Park in east Louisville.
