JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- A new addition could be coming to Jeffersonville's riverfront.
The U.S.S. lst 325 Memorial Ship currently in Evansville, Indiana may be putting its sights on moving to Jeffersonville.
No agreements have been made yet but Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore has been in discussions to possibly move the vessel in early January.
Peoria, Illinois and Paducah, Kentucky could also be in the running to get the ship in their area.
The ship is one of only two remaining operational vessels of its kind.
The project is in the early stages and a feasibility study will need to be done before a decision is made.
