Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - It's one of the few times that hacking is actually encouraged.

On May 31, people are encouraged to be a part of the National Day of Civic Hacking.

Whether you're a techy or just a curious civilian, you're asked to participate in discussions on how technology can be used to improve your life.

Louisville is one of 100 cities across the country participating.

The hackathon will be from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Nucleus at 300 E. Market Street.
