Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Mark Williams of Brandenburg is on a mission to solve a mystery.
In October, a friend of his passed away and left him with an old toolbox. A couple of months later, Williams discovered a surprise inside. He found dozens of pictures, many of them dating back to the 1800s.
“I knew I wouldn’t know nobody in it,” Williams told WHAS11 News.
In some of the pictures there are clues about where they were taken and who the people were. One picture said it was taken at Clark and Steitler in Owensboro.
Another said it was taken from Ackerman and Betz in Louisville. Some even have names and family descriptions.
One photo of two young boys said their names were Lee and Frank. They were the sons of Dr. Thos J. Hendrick and Georgia Kennedy. The children were born in 1894 and 1898.
There’s also a picture of a baby born in 1888 named Ora B. Hendrick.
Williams believes the photos might belong to several different families.
“I think there’s going to be a bunch of different people,” said Williams.
Pictures that were forgotten over the years, but Williams hopes you will recognize a piece of your own family history.
