JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- 350 new jobs are open at a company called Advanced Metal Technologies.
AMT opened their doors back in December. They are occupying the former MKM Machine Tool Company in Jeffersonville.
AMT manufactures metal and plastic parts for the automotive and industrial markets.
They have already hired more than 130 employees but they are looking for more. AMT is looking for production, engineering, sales, administrative, and management positions. They hope to fill these positions by 2015.
Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore and Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels were on hand to make the announcement. Daniels says this innovative company is exactly the kind of business that Indiana is interested in.
“We believe the 350 jobs that are planned here now could well be on the conservative side. They're family supporting jobs. They're right in Indiana's wheelhouse, skilled workers who can operate the sophisticated machinery it takes to do what these guys do,” said Daniels.
This news is another positive economic push after Amazon's recent announcement that they too are coming to Jeffersonville and adding more than 1000 jobs over the next few years.
