A German shepherd who's saved hundreds of lives got a hero's welcome in California.

“Lucca” is an 8-year-old military dog trained to sniff out explosives. Lucca lost her left leg after finding a booby-trap device that exploded.

Before losing her leg she led more than 400 patrols, now she and her handler, USMC Sgt. Chris Willingham, are touring the country to promote the new "Military Working Dog Teams" national monument.

The national monument will have a permanent home in San Antonio, Texas, where military dogs are bred.
