LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville Metro Police Department’s academy class 24 volunteered with Trilogy Health Service Monday morning at two senior care facilities.
The recruits helped serve breakfast and played pool, poker, and Scrabble with the seniors.
“It’s not always about making an arrest or an investigation. We’re making the community our primary focus and this is an example of us trying to do that,” Casey Skeens said.
“This is part of keeping our residents in touch with community members and it’s a wonderful Christmas,” Suzanne Rinne, Executive Director of Westport Place said.
LMPD says each recruiting class makes a commitment to volunteer and give back within the community.
