(WHAS11) - My husband and I were lucky enough to be able to return to Maine for our summer vacation this year. While, I always say (and have written here) that there’s no place more beautiful than the hills of Southern Indiana overlooking the Ohio river, I must admit Maine is a very close second in my heart. I compare the Cadillac National Park to being in the Smokey Mountains with an Ocean. Everywhere you look the scenery is an inspiration. For us it inspired relaxation. We began our trip in Booth Bay, Maine, another picturesque town in Maine and ended in Bar Harbor near Cadillac Mountain and Acadia National Park. By the way, we also spent an evening in a tiny little town called Seal Harbor where I asked who could possibly own those huge, beautiful summer homes that overlook the small harbor. A local person told us Martha Stewart owns one and the Vanderbilt family owns another. I can’t confirm that but they have to be owned by someone with a lot of cash. Enjoy the photos and we invite you to share your best summer fun with us.
