(WHAS11) – Kentucky’s Medal of Honor recipient is now an Honorary State Trooper. Kentucky State Police presented the certificate to Sergeant Dakota Meyer on Monday. Meyer will not have any police powers. They say it is just a way of thanking him for his accomplishments.
In September, Meyer was given the Medal of Honor by President Obama for saving 36 people while fighting in Afghanistan.
Meyer will participate in New York’s Veterans Day Parade on November 11.
