Making history, the Bellarmine Knights have won the Division II National Championship

(WHAS11)  Bellarmine University defeated BYU-Hawaii 71-68 to win the NCAA Division II National Championship.  The Knights finished the season with a 33-2 record.

Jeremy Kendle lead the team with 16 points, Justin Benedettit finished with 15 and Luke Sprague turned in a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

With 2.1 seconds left, Nick Holmes made one of two free throws, giving Bellarmine the three point advantage.

Tsung-Hsien (Jet) Chang led BYU-Hawaii (22-9) with 35 points.
