LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The Louisville Magic Festival is this weekend and two big names from Louisville will be there – Mac King and Lance Burton.
Burton said he was hooked as a kid growing up in Louisville when he was picked to go up on stage for a magic show. The rest, as they say, is history.
He took his show on the road, ending up with his own theatre in Las Vegas and where he delighted audience for the past three decades.

He said there is something about magic that talks to people on a basic level, something mysterious.
Burton worked his magic on Terry and me Thursday morning: Terry was told to pick a card in his head and Burton could name it. He named the card, which was the 9 of diamonds, and we were left wondering "how did he do that?"
Since his retirement Burton said he is working on special projects like the movie "Oz: The Great and Powerful." He said actor James Franco was quick study.
But the bright lights of Vegas and Hollywood won't keep him forever, he said there's something magical about his home state of Kentucky drawing him back.
He said he will eventually move back to Kentucky to his farm in Columbia.
