(WHAS11) Louisville’s very own sculptor, Ed Hamilton, is sharing his story with Kentuckiana students in honor of Black History Month.
“We have to share our stories and sharing our stories, that’s what I love; particularly about growing up in this town and then being able to do these monuments,” said Hamilton.
Hamilton had a chance to talk to students Friday at Blue Lick Elementary.
He talked to them about his art work, which includes the sculpture of Abraham Lincoln placed at Waterfront Park.
And the students had time to ask him questions.
Hamilton will unveil his latest project, a sculpture of Judge William McAnulty, on Thursday in Frankfort.
McAnulty was the first African American Justice on the Kentucky Supreme Court.
