LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Two Louisville men have a pretty good fish story to tell after they landed a whopper near the Horseshoe Casino on the Ohio River.

Mark Cannon and Chris Stoner caught a 69.7 lb. flathead catfish Tuesday night.

While the catfish is not the biggest caught in Kentucky or Indiana, it is still quite a site.

According to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife website, the record for the largest flathead caught in the Commonwealth was set back in 1956 when Esker Carroll pulled a 97-pounder out of the Green River.

Indiana's Department of Natural Resources website shows the Hoosier record was set in 1966 by Glen Simpson. Simpson caught a nearly 80 lb. flathead while fishing at the White River.
