Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Louisville church groups are working hard to renovate shotgun houses around the city.

The groups worked with New Direction Housing Project and Project S.O.S., Save Our Shotgun houses.

Volunteers worked on both the inside and outside of homes on Geiger and E. Oak Streets.

They said it's all about helping keep homes beautiful for the city and homeowner.

The group said Louisville has the most shotgun homes in the entire country.
