LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) - - The historic Louisville clock now back home after 31 years and it's now getting a new voice!
Mike Battaglia is the odds maker at Churchill Downs and came to WHAS11 to record his voice for the derby racing clock.
The clock was created by Barney Bright in 1976. The clock suffered from mechanical problems and was frequently out of order.
In 1986 it was moved to the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center, but the city stopped making repairs and it sat inactive for years before being removed in 1993.
It was eventually relocated to Bowman Field for a restoration project.
Battaglia remembers watching the clock as a child when it sat on Fourth Street.
