LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LMPD press release) -- The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament 2nd and 3rd rounds will be in Louisville at the KFC YUM! Center from March 14 through March 17.

Police are anticipating many visitors on March 15th and 17th to the KFC YUM! Center. Witherspoon between First and Second Streets will be closed on these dates; however, the Witherspoon Garage will still be accessible from First and Second Streets. Also, Washington Street from Preston Street to First Street will be closed all day on Saturday, March 17.

Please plan for traffic delays on each of these days. Several activities are going on in the area of the KFC YUM! Center during the tournament games, so please plan your travel with this in mind. It should be noted that the Rodes City Run is being conducted early Saturday morning which will require several road closures and no parking areas.

LMPD will have officers on various posts to expedite traffic before, during and after the games. We will allow traffic to flow normally unless it becomes necessary for us to assist with expediting traffic. Thursday's traffic will be affected from 10 am - 11 pm and traffic will be affected all day on Saturday, March 17th.

Please be patient, our goal is to ensure the safety of our citizens, visitors and officers.
