(WHAS11)  Trick-or-treaters will be raking in the candy later tonight, and one Kentuckiana dentist wants you to give the candy to his office, so they can send it to soldiers overseas.

Doctor James Ransdell said he wants to help children keep their teeth healthy, and send their treats to our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

His office will pay $1 for each pound of Halloween candy children turn over to him; up to seven pounds.  In exchange for the cavity-causing candy, Dr. Ransdell will hand out toothbrushes that glow.

If you’re interested, bring your candy to Elk Creek Dental Care in Taylorsville on Monday, November 2, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  The candy must be un-opened to be accepted.
