Likely Ky. Voters support charter school option

(WHAS 11)--A new poll out that shows Kentucky voters overwhelmingly support turning the state's low performing schools into public charter schools.

The data from Harper polling shows 72 percent of would be voters support the move with a margin of error of about 3percent.

Kentucky education commissioner Terry Holliday has proposed making consistently failing schools into charter schools which are more innovative and held accountable for student achievement.

The bill passed the senate March 5 and now moves on to the house.
