LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The final performance of the Kosair Shrine Circus happened Sunday night at the Kentucky State Fairgrounds.
Sunday morning, children got the chance to ride an elephant, camel or pony. Even though the Shrine Circus has been around for nearly a century, it is still a big hit with the kids, the parents, and even grandparents.
“It brings the child out in all of us. We see five to 95-year old children here. They like the sounds, they like the excitement, they like riding the elephants and we have a popular character every year. This year it’s Captain America. Where else can you experience that?” says Randy Cole, the spokesman for the Kosair Shrine Circus.
The circus has taken place all weekend at the Broadbent Arena at the fairgrounds.
