Kentucky's Pride Month Parade hits downtown

Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Kentucky's Pride Month festivities kicks off June 20 with a parade in downtown Louisville, which starts at 7:30 p.m.

In addition to the parade, a festival will take place at noon on Saturday at the Belvedere. Admission is free. There will be a stocked food court, drinks and music.

Louisville's Mayor Greg Fischer joined Mayors for the Freedom to Marry in advance of a meeting by the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Dallas.

Fischer joined the group Friday. They believe that all people should be able to share in the love and committment of marriage.

Bardstown, Ky. mayor Bill Sheckles is  also a part of that group.
