LOUISVILLE, Ky (WHAS11) -- The Kentucky State Fair Board has approved a 60-day extension to allow more time for Kentucky Kingdom developers to get their money together.
Businessman Ed Hart still plans to open the abandoned amusement park in May next year.
Investors needed to secure a $25 million bank loan, but were only approved for $15 million. This means they need to come up with $10 million in the next two months.
The park has been closed since 2009 when Six Flags declared bankruptcy.
