LOUISVILLE, Ky. (NEWS RELEASE) --  The Traffic Plan that the LMPD has in place for the YUM Center events is very effective. The police typically tweak and adjust this plan to deal with any issues that may arise. With Light Up Louisville occurring on the same evening, Nov. 29, as a Men's basketball game the LMPD has adjusted the traffic plan as well.

On the inbound, game-goers will notice a big difference with the flow of traffic due to Light up Louisville taking place on this same evening:

-Main Street which is a main artery that is normally used for inbound and outbound traffic will be closed at 4th to 5th Street.
-Visitors who normally park at the Galt House parking garage will have access to the garage from River Road as well as Third Street.
-All other parking should be available as normal with the exception of on street parking between 3rd  Street and 5th Street on Main.

At the outbound the Light Up Louisville traffic plan and the UofL game traffic plan will complement on another:

-Visitors, who are leaving the game and/or Light Up Louisville, parked west of Fourth, between Main and Chestnut will be directed East on Market and Liberty to First and/or Second and can access I-65 South by following the traffic officer’s direction. There is an option to continue eastbound as well.
-Visitors who are leaving the game and/or Light Up Louisville, parked north of Main will be sent north to I-64 eastbound and east on Witherspoon to River Road. They will have the option to access I-71 North or South.
-Visitors who are leaving the game and/or Light Up Louisville, parked west of Fourth can go westbound to 9th Street to access I-64 East or West.
