JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- A Kentuckiana boy is recovering after receiving a bone marrow transplant and now his family wants to pay it forward with a special event.

Three-year-old Dylan Wiseman suffers from plastic anemia, and recently he was fortunate to find a matching bone marrow donor. Dylan's family said they want to help others find a match.

The family organized an event where you can sigh up to be on the Bone Marrow Registry.

"I would hate to have someone else go through this journey and if we can do something to make it better then it won't be in vain," Dylan's mom, Angie Grimes-Wiseman, said.

All it takes is simple mouth swab to become part of the registry.

The drive is at Nelson's Garage, 204 W. Court Ave. in Jeffersonville from 2 to 6 p.m.
