(WHAS11) – Jefferson County Public Schools are being recognized for their efforts to make school lunches nutritious and healthy.
The Director of Nutrition Services, Julia Bauscher, has been given the Golden School Food Service Director of the Year Award. To celebrate her success, students at Eisenhower Elementary were treated to an “Alice in Wonderland” themed lunch.
Bauscher was honored for her efforts to improve professional development for cafeteria staff and for having 79 schools certified in the Healthier US School Challenge.
