(WHAS 11)--It's often called the silent killer.

A brain aneurysm is difficult to detect and a stroke can rarely be predicted.

WHAS lost one of its own to a brain aneurysm back in 2009.

But there are ways to reduce your risk by participating in an annual health screening.

The Annual Stroke and Brain Aneurysm Health Screening is September 15 at the Kentucky International Convention Center, in exhibit hall 1-A. The screening runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You can pre register online and it's all free.
