(WHAS11) -- WHAS11 is taking you inside the childhood home of Ky. native George Clooney!

Good Morning Kentuckiana's Andy Treinen recently spent some time in Augusta, Ky to reminisce about the unlikely journey that propelled George Clooney from a small Ohio river town to one of Hollywood's brightest stars.

Ever since his parents met in Lexington in the 50's Nick and Nina Clooney have reached for the stars.

Nick is a lifetime journalist who met Nina when she was a beauty contestant in the Miss Kentucky pageant.

While there are obvious similarities between a young Nick and George. Nina is and always has been a knock out. But it was nick's sister Rosemary Clooney who first exposed the family to super stardom.

Like George she was a mega star. An actress and jazz vocalist who first brought the Clooneys to the big screen in the 50's.

Twice People magazine's sexiest man alive, George is a seven time Academy Award nominee, and his star has never been brighter. But it's what he does with that fame that makes his parents most proud.

Clooney organized Hope for Haiti after the earthquake in 2010 and in 2006 traveled with his father to Darfur to raise awareness for genocide in Sudan.

And yes we had to ask about all those gorgeous leading ladies. Do mom and dad believe him when George says he'll never get married again? His parents said that it’s George’s business.
