LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The last train moved over it forty-four years ago. This week, the Big Four Railroad Bridge at Waterfront Park comes back to life with feet and bicycle tires.
The grand opening of the pedestrian bridge is set for Thursday morning.
Mayor Greg Fischer and Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore will preside over an informal ceremony and soft opening Thursday at 11 a.m.
The public is invited for a ceremonial walk across the bridge, but you'll have to turn around at the Indiana side; that approach isn't finished yet, but they are getting closer. Indiana opens its side in April.
