(WHAS11) The indefinite suspension of two principals is over. Jefferson County School officials announced two suspended principals will be back on the job Monday.
Sonya Unseld, of Lincoln Elementary and Julia Lewis, of Martin Luther King Junior Elementary, were suspended Wednesday, the day after hundreds of JCPS students got home hours late.
The district said despite training, the principals were not prepared and did not have the identification tags for the students done ahead of time as they were instructed to do.
“That’s why we ended up having students with no IDs and no Tags. It can’t get any clearer than that. They did not do what they were directed to do,” said JCPS spokesperson Lauren Roberts.
Both principals were given letters of reprimand and you can read those letters by clicking here, or the 'related items' in this story.
