CHARLESTOWN, Ind. (WHAS11) – See the “bad guys” of history invade Tunnel Mill in Charlestown, Ind. Saturday and Sunday at an event called Brigand’s Grove.

Reenactors dressed as river pirates, highwaymen and other historical scoundrels will be at the John Work House fighting in skirmishes at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Many who attend will also get to see historical boats, cannon firing demonstrations, camp life of the time and tour the John Work House. The event starts on Aug. 12 at noon until Aug. 14 at 4 p.m. at 3709 Tunnel Mill Road, Charlestown, Ind. 47111.

Reenactors from Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, Iowa and Michigan are coming in for the event.

Nathanael Logsdon, the event organizer, said the time period represented at this event is from the 1650s to 1800s.

Active military personnel, police and firefighters can park for free at the event with a valid ID.
