LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Kentuckiana elementary student is helping the homeless every single day. Patience Robinson is a fifth-grader at Crossroads Elementary in Bullitt County. Before school every day she sells handmade bookmarks. She sells them for 25-cents each and has sold $60 worth so far with all that money going to Shepherds Shelter in Bullitt County.
Patience says she was inspired to raise the money after watching the news and seeing adults and kids struggle each day to survive. She plans to continue raising money through May 27, her last day at Crossroads.
