(WHAS11) Warren Buffet, Bill Gates and Ted Turner all have being rich in common, and it appears many other Americans do as well. According to the book, “The Haves and the Have-Nots,” about half of the richest people in the world are American.
According to the book, it only takes about $34,000 a year, after taxes, to be among the richest one percent in the world. If you break that down, a family of four would need to make $136,000 a year to qualify.
And with that definition, there are 29 million rich people in the United States.
Also, a new disturbing trend shows that many of our nation's doctors are going broke; they blame shrinking insurance reimbursements, changing regulations, and rising costs for putting their private practices underwater.
Some experts say the fact that fewer people are going to the doctor is also to blame.
