Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11)- Female volunteers with Habitat for Humanity are teaming up to build a home for a single dad.
Wednesday the builders began construction of the home at the corner of 22nd and Magazine Streets.
Organizers raised $45,000 to help with the construction, but say they are facing some difficulties.
“We're here on a tight work sight as you can see. We're on a corner, as well as hemmed in. We're facing some challenges, but our crew leader has built dozens of homes and has also built as far flung as Siem Reap, Cambodia or Haiti,” says the Chair of Women for Habitat Committee Dee Allen.
Volunteers say the home will be for Mark Neal, who lives with his adult son and 3-year-old daughter.
