Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - During the 1990’s, Louisville was becoming known as “Implosion City” and on WHAS11, we showed you every one of them live.
In this Friday Flashbacks, it’s hard to believe, but one became the forgotten implosion, the one no one seems to remember; the ten-story, 84-year-old Milner Hotel at 3rd and Jefferson. We were broadcasting from the top of the Old Spaghetti Factory.
The Milner Hotel was built in 1911 and designed by a local firm. It closed a working hotel in 1985. The implosion happened 16-years-ago, this month. It was torn down to make way for the expansion of the downtown convention center.
