LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The foundation created by a former University of Louisville football star is giving back to local kids.
Amobi Okoye's Kickoff 4 Kids Foundation was at Olmsted Academy North Friday to reward kids for excelling in the classroom.
The Cards Play Program is a physical activity based program that promotes academics through athletics. The program kicked off at Olmsted North and Okolona Elementary at the beginning of the school year.
"We really want to instill in the kids there's rewards for doing what you need to be doing in the classroom and that academics and athletics go hand in hand. You can't do one without the other," Chad Rimpsey, Kickoff 4 Kids Foundation, said.
