LOUISVILLE, Ky (WHAS11) – The warm, clear weather in combination with the JCPS students who don’t start school until Tuesday made for a busy first weekend of the Kentucky State Fair. All of the usual attractions, rides, games, and livestock were there.
However most people told WHAS they showed up for the food. New on this year’s fair menu are deep fried Girl Scout cookies.
However many had to fight traffic to make it onto the fairgrounds. WHAS has gotten reports of people waiting in line about an hour to enter the parking lot. Some fair goers said they avoided the wait by using other entrances to the grounds.
