(WHAS11)  FEMA officials are making their way through Kentucky this weekend to assess the damage from last week’s storms.

Floodwaters have started to recede in much of the Bluegrass, allowing investigators access to both government and privately-owned property.

Thirty-one people across the southeast died in the storms, six of them in Kentucky.

The latest victim was an 18-year-old kayaker, whose body was found in Lake Cumberland Friday.

If you have suffered storm damage, officials say to take pictures and save your repair receipts so you can report the damage to local emergency management directors.
