(WHAS11)  Saturday was a special day for two special youngsters.

Noah and D.J. Stickler got to fly an airplane, as honored guests in the Global Air dot com Aviation Poker Run.

The event benefits the WHAS Crusade for Children.

Noah and D.J. boarded a piper aircraft with Pilot Dane Wilham and took to the air from Bowman Field.
It was a first flight for both Noah and D.J.
With the supervision of Pilot Wilham, Noah was first to try his hand at flying.  After a quick landing and pilot switch at the Greene County Airport, it was D.J.’s turn.
Both young flyers came away from their first flying adventure sporting big smiles.
Noah was asked, “…How was flying?”  “Great!  It was really fun,” he said.  “So now are you going to get a pilot’s license?”  “I think it would be pretty neat.  It’s a pretty neat little thing to do,” he said beaming.
The crew at Global Air Dot Com is still totaling up the final numbers from the Aviation Poker Run, for the crusade; but as far as Noah’s and D.J. are concerned, it was a definite winner.
