LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- On Saturday, local law enforcers partnered with the Drug Enforcement Agency for a national drug take back initiative.
The CVS on Brownsboro Road was just one location out of more than 20 across our viewing area where people could drop off their expired and unused medication today.
The goal is to prevent these drugs from falling into the wrong hands where they could be abused or even sold on the streets.
Folks collecting medication at this CVS said almost 50 cars drove by to drop off drugs.
The DEA disposes of the medications by burning them.
