LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The theme of a new campaign that launches Wednesday is "Drive sober or get pulled over!" It is beginning in Louisville in hopes of curbing alcohol related car crashes.

LMPD hopes this campaign will remind drivers that if they get behind the wheel after driving, they will be caught and arrested. It is part of a nationwide campaign that includes more enforcement and events to raise awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Last year, more than 150 Kentuckians died in crashes related to drugs and alcohol.

WHAS11's Renee Murphy talked with Lt. Doug Sweeney about the program and more. Click on the video player above for the full story.
