LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The deadline is approaching for the Kentucky State Police's driving academy called "Drive to Stay Alive."
The program is specifically geared toward teens to take part, they have to be at least 16-years-old, be a licensed driver, have good communication skills and leadership traits and have school permission.
State police say the course teaches skills that could save a driver's life and includes actual motor vehicle situations and classroom studies.
The program is free but space is limited.
