(WHAS11) Despite the hot weather, thousands of people have already showed up to brave the heat at Louisville’s first HullabaLOU Festival.
On day two of the festival, WHAS11’s Mike Colombo found some people gathering for a pre-party before Saturday night’s big act. The anticipation continued to grow for Saturday’s featured act, Kenny Chesney; early in the day Kenny fans were already getting the party started out in the parking lot.
A group from Cincinnati said they travel throughout the country to see Chesney play. They had tailgating set up and they mean business; fully equipped with sand, a swimming pool and of course, their favorite Chesney songs playing in the background. These fans said they’re fired up for the show.
Dawn Bowers, who called herself a die-hard Chesney fan, said “It’s a lifestyle we follow and we are die-hard fans. We party like there’s no tomorrow.”
Mike Colombo also talked to a couple who traveled more than six hours from West Virginia to check out the show and others from here in Louisville, who said they are excited to see Churchill Downs in a different setting.
