LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- About a dozen volunteers from Morgan Stanley volunteered their time Wednesday afternoon to help feed students in need.

Employees from Morgan Stanley were on hand at Dare to Care Food Bank helping to package food for the Backpack Buddy program.

That program is a hunger initiative that helps ensure kids are fed when they are not in school.

The initiative is part of the company's commitment to Feeding America and its network of 200 local food banks that distribute millions of meals every year to children and families across the United States.

“Dare to Care is an important organization to the Louisville community and Morgan Stanley feels passionate about the campaign and we were able to partner up with them and come out fill the backpacks and we were also able to make a monetary gift,” Don Ragins with Morgan Stanley said.

Morgan Stanley donated a $25,000 grant to help fund the Backpack Buddy program.
