LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- We all support our favorite causes. Many of you give to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
Now thanks to your generosity the children and parents at the Kids Center are all smiles.
Six-year-old Jesse did the honors and officially opened the Kids Center's new sensory garden.
Five groups, including the crusade, financed the project. This new space gives both children and parents a place to learn about textures or simply enjoy being outside.
"Our therapists had wanted an outside treatment area that will provide different sensory input for our children in an outdoor setting; Something that can be duplicated at home as well,” David Ramer, with the Kids Center, said.
The sensory garden features a memorial path as well as chimes and sculptures. It's a multi-purpose area but most importantly for the children it's fun.
