LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The WHAS Crusade for Children is mourning the loss of one of it's behind-the-scenes innovators.
As a firefighter, Bill Greenwell started collecting for the Crusade in the 1960's. By the 1970's, he was asked to become the Chief Coordinator of all the fire departments which collect for the Crusade. In that role, he was instrumental in keeping firefighters engaged in the Crusade's mission of serving children with special needs.
Funeral arrangements are still being finalized. The Greenwell family asks that we all honor Bill's legacy by donating to the Crusade for Children.
