Community leaders plan to hold news conference Friday regarding recent shootings

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) - - A day of violence leaves many Louisville families without loved ones and many remember the victims of the cities latest homicides. Community leaders have come together and plan to take action against the recent shootings in Western Louisville.

Louisville Metro Councilwoman Attica Scott (District 1) and Community Liaison Christopher 2X will hold a news conference on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Parkland Boys & Girls Club located at 32nd Street and Greenwood Avenue.

Councilwoman Scott wants to make plans to avoid the magnitude of a situation like this in the future.  "Public Safety is a top priority throughout this entire city and this type of violence cannot and will not be tolerated. We have to ensure the safety of our citizens, particularly in times like this" said Councilwoman Scott.
