(WHAS11) -- Thursday August 23 is WHAS11's day out at the Kentucky State Fair and that means additional freebies for anyone who stops by our booth.  Not every handout at the fair however comes without conditions.

The price of the Kentucky State Fair is $8 for adults, $4 for children and seniors along with an additional $8 to park. If you take advantage of all the freebies you can make up that money and then some. But buyer beware, free doesn't mean without conditions.

"We've got all kinds of freebies, everything from pill boxes to coloring books and all kinds of goodies," said Clare Blanton, a fairgoer.
The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers that signing up for freebies establishes a "business relationship" with the company promoting the prize.  By giving the promoter your name, number and address consumers could receive unwanted credit cards and telemarketing phone calls even if you are on the no call list.
When dealing with indoor exhibitors ask these questions:
1. How long have you been in business?
2. Do you have a land-line number and address?
3. Is there a warranty?
4. How long is the product covered?
5. Can I get money back if it's defective?
6. Can I get a refund or exchange policy in writing.
Live cooking shows, animal watching and much of the music are freebies with no strings attached along with a free concert every night at Old Cardinal Stadium.
