(WHAS11) -- He was a beloved member of the WHAS11 family and spent 30 years as a journalist here before dying of a brain aneurysm in March of 2009.
His family is working to provide access to preventative screenings and raise awareness to the signs and symptoms of aneurysms and strokes.
WHAS11 held a telethon to benefit the the Chuck Olmstead Memorial Fund on Friday April 13. The telethon raised an estimated $4,500.
The Chuck Olmstead Memorial Fund free aneurysm screening will take place on May 20 at the Kentucky International Convention Center from 9a.m.-4p.m.
